Sandherr

Mixed Media Glass Artist · Naples, Florida

Born and raised in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, Matt Sandherr has always been driven by a desire to create. That pursuit eventually led him to Naples, Florida, where his artistic practice took shape.

His connection to visual art began early. As a student, he borrowed a 35mm camera from school and spent countless hours in the darkroom developing his own photographs. Working heavily in black and white, he became fascinated by the way light, shadow and texture could tell a story.

As his career developed in the window-film industry, Sandherr became known for innovative manufacturing techniques and custom architectural applications. The technical work grew, while the creative work receded into the background.

Decades later, experiments with glass, imagery and film reignited that earlier impulse. Photography, mixed media and advanced glass-film fabrication began to converge into a body of work shaped equally by technical experience and personal expression.

“Each piece represents something made with my heart, my hands, and my soul.”

Today, his work bridges a long-standing connection to the automotive world with deep experience in custom glass and film fabrication. The result is a practice centered on material, reflection, dimensionality and light.
